Here is the first video for my new blog video site www.ovencleaning.tv . I filmed the first few in January when it was cold. This was one of my new years resolutions to get this site going. So I filmed a few videos and have been putting the odd one or two up since then. I will be getting things together soon to put up a regular video. Another New Year’s resolution was to lose weight. So in the newer videos I am getting thin!

Today I have been to the other side of Swindon to a place called Faringdon to clean a 3 oven AGA. It was a 13 Amp electric one, without AIMS, and the lady has had it for three years. I also cleaned it 12 months ago. When I got there I remembered the AGA as it doesn’t seem to have springs on the lid hinges like they normally do. So I think it was installed without these springs. I can’t remember seeing one like this before. I must have thought the same last year and the owner had phoned AGA after I had gone last  year. They didn’t do anything about the problem just said who was the person who pointed it out?! I not sure if I have missed an update on the AGA; do the newer ones have a different spring arrangement on the lid hinges? If I am wrong please let me know. I’ll try and check with AGA on Twitter and Facebook to see if I can get an answer.

Also on this AGA I noticed that No 3 oven looked like it had been running at a very high temperature as it was the dirtiest of the three ovens. I was unable to get the carbon off of the inside of the ovens which is very unusual. So isn’t this oven supposed to be at temperature less than the main “roasting oven”. Last weekend we were at the Franchise Show at Middlesbrough (at Middlesbrough Football Ground) and Newcastle (at the Racecourse) and we were delighted by the amount of interest that our business opportunity attracted. Here is an AGA cleaning video that I put together last year and seems to be very successful on Youtube.com. The pictures were taken about six years ago and now I would do things a bit differently and get a better result. We have been cleaning the inside of ovens 3 and 4 on 4 oven AGAs for a while now and I would now dip the dividing rack which is between the two ovens. We also know get a better finish on the doors and underneath the lids. Also on our AGA cleaning service we now look out for missing washers on the door hinges and replace them if required, and missing insulation rings on the handles and if your thermometer cover needs replacing we can do that too. Oven Cleaner of the Year

Well it is taken me a while but here is the photo of me handing over the ‘Employee of the Year’ to Matt Reilly. He is OvenGleam’s Employee of the Year or to put it another way Oven Cleaner of the Year 2010. Last year each week we awarded one of our employees the award of employee of the week. We gave them award according to the number of testimonials we had received, the number of up-sells he had made, and the number of oven liners etc he had made.
